Process Heating Company has more than 65 years of experience in manufacturing 100%-efficient Lo-Density® low-watt density electric heating systems, designed to spread heat over a larger surface area, eliminating high element temperatures that damage the product.

Each unit utilizes a drywell-style element that resides inside a pipe or tube, allowing the element to be accessed and removed from outside the tank for maintenance and eliminating the need to drain the tank to service the elements.

Industrial/Asphalt Heaters

 

Unitized Heaters remain Process Heating Company's best selling product line. Its popularity continues due to the ease of installation into any tank or vat; its 100% efficiency; its ease of automation; its lack of maintenance and remarkable reliability. The “Lo-Density” Unitized Heater dissipates as low as three watts per square inch on the heater sheath. The PHCo Unitized Heater is viable with most temperature sensitive products for most every industry; asphalt and other petroleum derivatives for reducing viscosity; animal oils, fats, molasses for food production; lignite's, waxes, paints, inks, etc.

No tanks to drain. Easily installed the heavy-duty assemblies weld directly into storage tanks to deliver long term and economical performance. Once installed, the flexible heater elements are removable from heater tubes without the need to drain the tank or disconnect fluid lines. LO-DENSITY® IS A BIG PLUS. The large heater surface area is designed with a pre-determined low watt density (watts/sq. in.) giving low sheath temperatures to avoid coking or damage to the material being heated.

All-In-One Heater Kit
This remarkable Heater Kit can be used for heating an asphalt tank and supplying hot oil for the plant. Maintaining asphalt at desired temperatures is a primary feature of this new PHCo heating system. In addition it circulates oil through scavenger coils and over thermostat controlled electric booster heating elements. This provides hot oil for heating of jacketed lines, pumps and valves, drags, silo cones and plant components. The scavenger coils allow for quick heat up while booster coils elevate oil temperatures above the asphalt storage temperature if higher temperature hot oil is required.

PHCo's "Lo-Density"® Circulation Heaters are perfect for in-line heating of fluids. These are complete packaged systems available with or without control panels. The Flanged vessels are available with ASME pressure rating and include high temperature insulation and weatherproof aluminum jacketing. The heating elements are low watt density, under 10 watts per square inch to reduce fouling in viscous products. The "dry well" design elements can be removed for service without interrupting your process, a distinct advantage. The terminal enclosures are weatherproof as standard and available for hazardous environments in some sizes.

Flanged Immersion Heaters for use in tanks, large vats and reservoirs. These heaters consist of a standard 150# or 300# flange for mounting and PHCo’s exclusive heating elements. The elements are "dry well" and "low density" design. The dry wells allow the elements to be serviced or replaced without draining the tank. The low watt density design keeps the element sheath temperature low. The heaters can be supplied either with or without our custom, U.L. Listed industrial control panels. PHCo offers many advantages over traditional style tubular elements.

The PHCo "Pump-in-Box" is offered two ways. Both systems are heated to assure the pump and valves are always at the correct temperature and ready to operate. The complete assembly consists of either a gear reduction, or a direct-driven/positive displacement gear pump and valves, with heavy duty electric motor - all mounted on a common base which in turn is heated. The base-mounted driving motor is located outside the heated enclosure, away from the heat zone.

Screwplug Heater Alternative
Rigid Tubular Drywell Heaters solve the problem of heating viscous products without damage to the product being heated. The Rigid Heaters can be installed as new or as replacement equipment for existing metal sheathed style tubular units that have higher watt density. Process Heating’s Rigid Heaters ease maintenance with their drywell design, allowing replacement without draining the reservoir, resulting in no machine downtime. The low watt density design reduces damage to the material being heated and build-up on the elements, resulting in longer heater life.

The "Problem Solver" for underground tanks. Having trouble solving your underground storage tank problems? PHCo “Lo-Density”® Drop-In Heater Kits have been designed for the heating of underground tanks and other applications that cannot be cut or welded on. These heaters can be used in multiples if needed and laid on the tank bottom end to end, appropriately spaced with varying lengths and flexible power leads supplied by PHCo.
